The family of Lavongai–Nalik languages is a subgroup of the New Ireland languages. It consists of 6 languages spoken on the island of New Ireland in Papua New Guinea.

Kara and Tiang may be closer to each other than to Nalik, but the evidence is inconclusive. The Mandara language (Madara, Tabar) is only poorly supported as a Lavongai–Nalik language, and is thus better classified under New Ireland.
